AIMS & SCOPE

Over the years the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences have created a rich resource of works by leading researchers and doctors from across the world and we believed that we can sustain a journal that will be treasured by the medical community. This Journal is quarterly publications started with and carries unique stories in the field of medical research by the best in their field. The journal is featuring a rich blend of reviews and will have original articles, reviews, interviews, opinions and stories of the latest breakthroughs in the medical field. We believe this is the only medical journal from Dubai, United Arab Emirates has recently entered in to the chemical abstract indexing and expecting to get indexed in the Pub Med Central.

The goal of the journal is to achieve wider national and international recognition, through a commitment to excellence in original research. Much of the educational role will continue to be achieved through publishing expanded review articles by pioneers from various medical fields and researches. After publishing since 2007 onwards for a period of 4 years, the publisher of the journal took an opinion through a professional workshop conducted by experts from the science publishing to develop this journal to an excellent one. The result of the workshop led to re-launch the journal to an attractive one more to be involved in electronic publishing independently. Accordingly, the set up of the journal structure has been changed and modified to a new look and feel with an eminent editorial advisory board under the leadership of the editor in chief, Professor Harald Rosen, Vienne, Austria.

Heart rate (HR) was significantly (P < 0.01) reduced and QT interval was signifycantly (P < 0.05) prolonged in diabetic rats compared to controls at 8, 10 and 12 weeks after STZ treatment.
